Description
This project aims to support the most climate vulnerable developing countries, notably Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS), in building their capacity to structure and secure public and private finance for priority climate mitigation and adaptation investments. The project will draw from a global talent pool to place dedicated and independent climate finance advisors in low capacity vulnerable countries, serving as facilitators and links between recipient countries and the various funding sources these countries need to achieve their national climate plans and related targets under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Although SIDS make negligible contributions to global greenhouse gas emissions rates, they find themselves on the frontline in the fight against climate change and are the most vulnerable to its impacts.
