The $16.5 million Canadian Climate Adaptation Facility at the United Nations Development Program provided support to implement national adaptation programs of action priority interventions to build resilience and adaptive capacity of the agriculture sector to climate change in Niger.

Results/Expected Outcomes

Canada's support contributes to strengthening resilience of food production systems and/or food insecure communities to climate stress, including dissemination of seeds of tried and tested drought-resilient crop varieties. Activities are expected to start in 2014.
