    Climate model data from a number of climate models developed by the Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis (CCCma) are available for download. Climate model output is available for the Fourth Generation Global Climate Model (CanESM2 / CGCM4 ), the Canadian Regional Climate Model (CanRCM4), and the Canadian Middle Atmosphere Model (CMAM). Gridded historical simulations and future projections from these climate models are available for downloading.

    Climate model graphics for a number of climate models developed by the Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling and Analysis (CCCma) are available. Model graphics of projected changes in temperature and precipitation are available for CanESM2 (fourth generation coupled GCM / 2nd generation Earth System Model), CanRCM4 (Canadian Regional Climate Model), and CGCM3 (third generation coupled GCM). Model graphics for earlier model versions are also available.

    Canadian ensemble of CMIP5 ocean wave heights simulations mean and extremes (Opens in a new Window)

    Canadian ensemble of CMIP5 ocean wave heights simulations mean and extremes contains monthly, seasonal and annual statistics (mean and maximum) of significant wave height that were produced using a statistical modelling approach and 6-hourly sea level pressure. Sea level pressure was simulated by 20 global climate models included in the Coupled Climate Model Comparison Phase 5 (CMIP5) project. The gridded global dataset contains projected data. Data are available for the historical period 1950-2005 and two different future emission scenarios (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5).

    Canadian Extreme Water Level Adaptation Tool (CAN-EWLAT) (Opens in a new Window)

    Canadian Extreme Water Level Adaptation Tool (CAN-EWLAT) is a science-based planning tool for the adaptation of coastal infrastructure related to future water-level extremes and changes in wave climates. This tool allows users to locate tide gauges and small craft harbours across Canada. For each geographical location, data including vertical allowance, sea level rise, mean water level, and wave climate can be visualized and downloaded.

    Climate Change Scenarios (Opens in a new Window)

    The Climate Change Scenarios - Agriculture dataset consists of a series of maps depicting the impacts of climate change on agriculture across Canada and the USA. Maps show data at a spatial resolution of ~2km as well as estimates for specific locations. Monthly data are available from 1900 and daily data are available from 1950. Projected future data are available to 2100 both yearly and as 30-year averages for 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100. Specific variables include Effective Growing Degree Day, Moisture Deficits, and Length of the Growing Season.

    Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) Global Climate Model Data (Opens in a new Window)

    Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) global climate model data regridded onto a common 1x1 degree global grid are available. Global climate model data at a monthly temporal resolution are available in gridded format for several variables including mean temperature, precipitation, sea ice thickness, sea ice concentration, snow depth, and near-surface wind speed. Individual and ensemble model output are available for historical (1900-2005) and future (2006-2100) time periods. Future projections are based on the Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) scenarios.

    Forest Change adaptation tools (Opens in a new Window)

    Forest Change adaptation tools provides information about the impacts of climate change on Canada’s forests and on how to adapt to changing climate conditions. Adaptation tools and resources for forest managers are available here. The tools and resources provided include maps, databases, web applications and synthesis reports. They are grouped under three broad systems: climate, forest and human.

    Forest Change Data Catalogue (Opens in a new Window)

    The Forest Change Data Catalogue includes downscaled climate projections using various climate models as well as data on drought, fire, forest communities, and tree distribution. Data are also available on other topics including regional fire risk and evacuations, species-specific vulnerability to climate change, and provenance trial data with respect to climate change. Point and gridded data are available for both historical and future periods.

    Plant Hardiness Zone Maps of Canada (Opens in a new Window)

    Plant Hardiness Zone Maps of Canada provide gridded information about where different types of plants can grow. They combine climatic information from across Canada and are available for two historical periods: 1961-1990 and 1981-2010. Projected future range maps are also available for a number of species of trees, shrubs, and perennial herbs. Climate profiles are available for plant species based on distribution data and climate models.

    Regional, national and international climate modeling (Opens in a new Window)

    Regional, national and international climate modeling contains a database of numerous climate variables for Canada and the USA. Historical and future periods are available as modelled point and gridded data. Data are available as 30-year averages (e.g. 1961/90; 1971/2000, etc.), historical month-by-month (from the late 1800s), and daily values (from the 1950s) all for a number of variables, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate change scenarios, and climate models. Future time periods include all years to 2100 and 30-year means for 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100.
