    Agriculture Water Demand Model (Opens in a new Window)

    The Agriculture Water Demand Model (AWDM) calculates current water requirements for agriculture using crop, soil, irrigation system type, and historical climate data, as well as future water requirements using projected climate change scenarios. The climate data layer has been developed for the entire Province of BC on 500 metre by 500 metre grid cells. The water demand results help municipalities to develop dedicated agriculture water that the Water Sustainability Act (WSA) supports. The BC Ministry of Agriculture has continued to collaborate with partners to expand the AWDM to other regions of the province, with complete coverage expected by 2021.     Agroclimatic Atlas of Alberta: Maps (Opens in a new Window)

    The Agroclimatic Atlas of Alberta contains maps summarizing climatic variables across Alberta for various historical periods, depending on variable. The following agroclimate variables are included: temperature, precipitation, growing season length, wind speed, wind direction, radiation, frost, hot days, cold days, wet spells, and dry spells. Data is presented in mapped format. In addition to maps and graphics, this page also links to a number of climate resources under the Agroclimatic Atlas of Alberta.

    Atlas de vulnérabilité aux vagues de chaleur et aux aléas hydrométéorologiques (in French only) (Opens in a new Window)

    This atlas aims to inform you about the geographic vulnerability of Quebec populations to heat waves and floods. The atlas was developed by the Université de Laval Department of Geography and Department of Geomatics Sciences, in partnership with the Ouranos Consortium and the Institut national de santé publique du Québec.

    BC Climate Explorer (Opens in a new Window)

    The BC Climate Explorer is an independent, open-source data visualization project using BC's Biogeoclimatic Ecosystem Classification (BEC) units. The goal is to help British Columbians - citizens, professionals, and public servants - to understand their changing local climates using both historical and projected future climate information. A wide range of variables is available, including temperature, precipitation, season length, frost, moisture deficit, humidity, and calculated indicators at monthly, seasonal, and annual resolutions. Data are displayed as raster data and are available for download in tabular, polygon, or raster file formats.

    Climate Atlas of Canada (Opens in a new Window)

    The Climate Atlas of Canada is an interactive tool developed for users to learn about climate change in Canada. It combines climate science, mapping and storytelling. The primary source of climate model data presented in maps, charts and tables is the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium. Statistically downscaled data was derived from 12 Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) global climate models for two emissions scenarios: Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.5 and 8.5. For comparative purposes, observed data are included in all time-series graphs for the period 1950-2005. The source of the observed data used in the Atlas is Natural Resources Canada.

    Climate data – High resolution projections (Opens in a new Window)

    Climate data - High resolution projections contains high resolution climate change data focused on Ontario. The dataset contains the 50th percentile high resolution probabilistic projections of annual averaged temperature and precipitation over Ontario, covering the 1970s, 2030s, 2050s, and 2080s. Data are provided in partnership with the University of Regina and York University. Data are available for download in tabular and gridded formats

    Farmwest (Opens in a new Window)

    Farmwest.com is a website launched in 2001 to provide weather and climate information as well as a number of decision-support tools to the agricultural sector. Farmwest is linked to 397 weather stations across Canada from federal, provincial, municipal and private weather station networks. Data includes temperature, precipitation, growing degree days, pest degree days, T-Sum calculator, and seasonal weather forecasts. Data are searchable by station and time period, and are available graphically.

    HectaresBC (Opens in a new Window)

    The HectaresBC browser allows visualization and analysis of geospatial gridded data. The system allows users to easily interact with and/or combine multiple datasets and quantify values for different geographical areas. The gridded datasets currently available include historical and future climate variables across BC. HectaresBC is a highly interactive tool with data outputs in various different formats. Data layers include climate normals and projected climate of the 2020s, 2050s and 2080s under Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5 and 8.5.

    Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool (Opens in a new Window)

    The Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool contains curated scholarly articles, datasets, state and federal resource reports, land management plans, and more. Each entry includes geographic information about the area of study, allowing users to draw a box on a map to narrow searches to information directly related to a specific region in Alaska, the Yukon, British Columbia, and Northwest Territories. This project is a collaboration among Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS), Alaska Climate Science Center, DataBasin, and Northwest Boreal Landscape Conservation Cooperative.

    PLAN2ADAPT (Opens in a new Window)

    The Plan2Adapt tool generates maps, plots, and data describing projected future climate conditions for regions throughout British Columbia. It is designed to help assess climate change in regions of BC based on a standard set of climate model projections. Climate variables include temperature, precipitation, snowfall, and growing and heating degree days. Impacts of change in these climate variables are also discussed. Data can be explored based on regional districts, health authority boundaries, ecoprovinces, and forestry regions over three time periods (2020s, 2050s, and 2080s), seasonally and annually.
