Library of climate resources

This is a collection of links to climate datasets, tools, guidance and related resources. The sources include the federal government, provincial and territorial governments, national professional organizations, climate consortia and established international organizations. It can be useful for impact, vulnerability and risk assessments, and for adaptation planning.

Refine your search using the search filters. You can also type up to 5 keywords in the search bar.

Explanation of the different resource types
  • data product - downloadable climate dataset
  • tool - builds on a dataset with further analyses and/or visualization
  • guidance - provides direction on the use of climate information or on conducting climate-related assessments
  • codes and standards - guidance and best practice documents for climate resilient design
  • additional resources include educational and awareness-raising material, impact assessments and scientific syntheses

LC MAP - Landscape Conservation Management and Analysis Portal (Opens in a new Window)

The Landscape Conservation Management and Analysis (LC MAP) Data Catalog tool includes resources for Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCC). LC MAP was originally developed by the U.S. Geological Survey in coordination with the Great Northern LCC and is broadly available for ScienceBase users to share, access, and analyze common datasets. LC MAP allows users to discover, assess, edit, analyze, and model common data themes and provides powerful geospatial analysis capabilities of ArcGIS 10 and its broad array of extensions.

Mackenzie DataStream (Opens in a new Window)

Mackenzie DataStream is an open access platform for sharing and exploring water data in the Mackenzie River Basin. Data are currently collected by community monitors with the help of scientists and accredited laboratories, who look for dissolved metals, turbidity, temperature, chlorophyll-a, as well as oil and gas chemicals. An interactive map may be used to select stations and locations of interest. Data are available for download in graphical and tabular formats. Please note that this resource is not supported by all internet browsers.

Manitoba Drought Monitor (Opens in a new Window)

The Manitoba Drought Monitor presents hydrologic forecast information, reports, current conditions, and flood alerts. Water availability and drought conditions are made available each month for a variety of locations in Manitoba. An interactive map is also available to view rivers and lakes, groundwater, precipitation, reservoirs, and drought for various locations in Canada. General information about drought and the history of drought in Manitoba is also available.
