Library of climate resources

This is a collection of links to climate datasets, tools, guidance and related resources. The sources include the federal government, provincial and territorial governments, national professional organizations, climate consortia and established international organizations. It can be useful for impact, vulnerability and risk assessments, and for adaptation planning.

Refine your search using the search filters. You can also type up to 5 keywords in the search bar.

Explanation of the different resource types
  • data product - downloadable climate dataset
  • tool - builds on a dataset with further analyses and/or visualization
  • guidance - provides direction on the use of climate information or on conducting climate-related assessments
  • additional resources include educational and awareness-raising material, impact assessments and scientific syntheses

LC MAP - Landscape Conservation Management and Analysis Portal (Opens in a new Window)

The Landscape Conservation Management and Analysis (LC MAP) Data Catalog tool includes resources for Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCC). LC MAP was originally developed by the U.S. Geological Survey in coordination with the Great Northern LCC and is broadly available for ScienceBase users to share, access, and analyze common datasets. LC MAP allows users to discover, assess, edit, analyze, and model common data themes and provides powerful geospatial analysis capabilities of ArcGIS 10 and its broad array of extensions.

Local Environmental Observer Network (Opens in a new Window)

Local Environmental Observer Network (LEO) is a network of local observers and topic experts who share knowledge about unusual animal, environment, and weather events. With LEO, users can connect with others in your community, share observations, raise awareness, and find answers about significant environmental events. Users can also engage with topic experts in many different organizations and become part of a broader observer community. To download data, users must register.

Mapping the Occurrence of Canada's Forest Pathogens (Opens in a new Window)

Mapping the Occurrence of Canada's Forest Pathogens contains distribution maps for almost 3000 forest fungi and mistletoes, many of which cause forest diseases. Over 60 years of historical ground observations and aerial overviews are available. Users can search the database for species of interest and access results in various ways, including viewing data in a table format, exploring results with an interactive map viewer, and downloading data for analysis in raster format.
