It can be useful for impact, vulnerability and risk assessments, and for adaptation planning.

    Coastal Erosion Data (Opens in a new Window)

    Coastal Erosion Data displays trends of coastal erosion and shoreline displacement based on specific measurement sites. Users can search for a location along the shoreline of New Brunswick using an interactive map. This will allow government, academic institutions, and consultants to have access to coastal erosion data, and raise awareness on risks of erosion.

    Engineering Climate Data Sets (Opens in a new Window)

    Engineering Climate Datasets contain: Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) Files, the Canadian Weather Energy and Engineering Datasets (CWEEDS) and the Canadian Weather Year for Energy Calculation (CWEC) dataset. The IDF dataset contains short duration rainfall Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) statistics. Data are presented as tables and graphs for various locations across Canada. CWEEDS provides hourly and long-term weather conditions at monitoring stations across Canada with at least 10 years of records between 1998 and 2014. CWEC datasets contain 12 calculated "Typical Meteorological Months" selected from a 30 years of records, including daily global radiation, dry-bulb temperature, dew-point temperature and wind speed.

    GeoWeb Water Portal (Opens in a new Window)

    The GeoWeb Water Portal interactive map displays historical and current water quantity, quality, and climate data for stations across BC for the period of 1886 to 2018. Specific measures include temperature, precipitation, snow depth, water quality, depth to groundwater, and others. Data are available in graphical format for each monitoring station.

    Hurricane Season Flood Alert System (Opens in a new Window)

    The Hurricane Season Flood Alert System (HSFAS) is based on forecasted precipitation amounts and seeks to provide communities with flood warning services as a key climate change adaptation and public safety tool. Alerts are provided to communities that have Flood Risk Mapping Studies (FRMS) or have published intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves from which precipitation-based flood triggers can be derived. The HSFAS is operational during the peak hurricane months of June to December, and provides alerts for 45 communities.

    IDF Curve Lookup (Opens in a new Window)

    IDF Curve Lookup is a web-based application to retrieve rainfall Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) curves. Users can input their location using a coordinate format, and select return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 years. Future projections are made based on a linear trend using 2010 as a reference year. Data are available for download in tabular and graphical formats.

    Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool (Opens in a new Window)

    The Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool contains curated scholarly articles, datasets, state and federal resource reports, land management plans, and more. Each entry includes geographic information about the area of study, allowing users to draw a box on a map to narrow searches to information directly related to a specific region in Alaska, the Yukon, British Columbia, and Northwest Territories. This project is a collaboration among Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS), Alaska Climate Science Center, DataBasin, and Northwest Boreal Landscape Conservation Cooperative.

    Nova Scotia Flood Event Database (Opens in a new Window)

    The Nova Scotia Flood History database contains historical records of flood events in Nova Scotia from 1992 to February 1, 2015. Each record in the database represents a single news article from The Chronicle Herald. The database provides the best matched city where the flood event occurred, the date the story was published, a snippet from the article's full story, other places and the county referenced in the news article (if available), and a citation for the record. Historical flood events dating back to 1759 until 1987 are also projected onto an interactive map.

    PLAN2ADAPT (Opens in a new Window)

    The Plan2Adapt tool generates maps, plots, and data describing projected future climate conditions for regions throughout British Columbia. It is designed to help assess climate change in regions of BC based on a standard set of climate model projections. Climate variables include temperature, precipitation, snowfall, and growing and heating degree days. Impacts of change in these climate variables are also discussed. Data can be explored based on regional districts, health authority boundaries, ecoprovinces, and forestry regions over three time periods (2020s, 2050s, and 2080s), seasonally and annually.
