    This guidance document aims to support electricity generators devise and implement a climate change adaptation plan.     Assembly of First Nations National Climate Gathering Report: Driving Change, Leading Solutions (2020) (Opens in a new Window)

    In 2020, the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) held its first National Climate Gathering in Whitehorse, Yukon, on the traditional territory of the Ta’an Kwächän and the Kwanlin Dün. More than 300 First Nations experts, leaders, youth, women, knowledge keepers, and professionals gathered to discuss root causes, acceleration of existing challenges, and solutions to the climate crisis. This report reflects on the presentations, discussions, experiences and knowledge shared at the Climate Gathering.

    Climate Adaptation and Resilience in Commercial Real Estate (Opens in a new Window)

    Extensive resources exist to support climate adaptation for municipalities, communities and critical infrastructure. Yet, there remains little comprehensive technical content addressing adaptation specifically for the commercial real estate sector (CRE) in Canada. To support the CRE sector, the objectives of this study are to identify and review guidance, frameworks, protocols, tools, academic publications, industry publications and other essential resources for conducting climate-risk assessments; best practices for climate resilience measures for the CRE sector; existing codes and standards in Canada and abroad that are relevant to climate resilience in CRE; and potential opportunities where standardization could support climate resilience in CRE.

    Climate Change Adaptation Planning and Creation of a Local Early Action Plan: A Guide for Facilitating a Co-Created Adaptation Planning Process in Indigenous Communities (Opens in a new Window)

    This guide aims to guide practitioners working in, and, with Indigenous communities in creating robust, community lead adaptation plans that are founded in Traditional Knowledge and Western science.     This publication discusses the impacts of climate change with a focus on workplaces, employers, workers, and the work they do. This publication discusses climate change and its impact on workplace health and safety, employers, workers, and other stakeholders. It includes: - direct and indirect impact of climate change on the workplace and the people in it, - taking climate-related events into account when establishing policies and programs to address their impact on occupational health and safety, - considering the impacts of climate change when completing workplace hazard identification and risk assessment, and - potential approaches for addressing climate-related workplace hazards (e.g., emergency response, implementing safe work practices, etc.).
