  • Adjusted/homogenized climate data (Opens in a new Window)

    Adjusted and homogenized climate datasets consist of monthly, seasonal, and annual means of homogenized daily maximum, minimum, and mean surface temperature, daily precipitation, hourly wind speed, and hourly station and sea level pressure across Canada. The data have been adjusted to account for discontinuities in the data from non-climatic factors such as changes in observation methods or station location. Sites are also sometimes combined resulting in longer time series.

    Agriculture Water Demand Model (Opens in a new Window)

    The Agriculture Water Demand Model (AWDM) calculates current water requirements for agriculture using crop, soil, irrigation system type, and historical climate data, as well as future water requirements using projected climate change scenarios. The climate data layer has been developed for the entire Province of BC on 500 metre by 500 metre grid cells. The water demand results help municipalities to develop dedicated agriculture water that the Water Sustainability Act (WSA) supports. The BC Ministry of Agriculture has continued to collaborate with partners to expand the AWDM to other regions of the province, with complete coverage expected by 2021.     Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program (AZMP) (Opens in a new Window)

    Meteorological Data contains historical observations of weather, rainfall, solar radiation, monthly temperature, and dry bulb temperature. These hourly data are derived from daily or monthly files within the Meteorological Service of Canada's Historical Dataset. Data are available from 1992 onwards in tabular format.

    BC Air Data Archive Website (Opens in a new Window)

    The BC Air Data Archive provides access to historical data from ambient air quality and meteorological stations across BC, including Metro Vancouver's coverage of the lower mainland. Specific variables include pollutant concentrations, temperature, humidity, wind speed & direction, and atmospheric pressure. Data are available for download in graphical or tabular forms, and in 1, 3, 4, 6, 12, or 24 hour averages over daily, weekly, or monthly summary periods.

    Climate data – High resolution projections (Opens in a new Window)

    Climate data - High resolution projections contains high resolution climate change data focused on Ontario. The dataset contains the 50th percentile high resolution probabilistic projections of annual averaged temperature and precipitation over Ontario, covering the 1970s, 2030s, 2050s, and 2080s. Data are provided in partnership with the University of Regina and York University. Data are available for download in tabular and gridded formats

    Data at National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) is a large repository of datasets that describe historical cryosphere information. Datasets available include temperature, glaciers, ice sheets, permafrost, sea ice, sea moisture, and snow. Historical data are available as point and gridded data.

    Historical Data (Opens in a new Window)

    The Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC)'s Historical Data contains historical temperature, precipitation, wind and weather, measured daily and hourly by stations across the country. Data can be searched by station name, province, or proximity to user. Data are presented in tabular format and available for download as comma-separated-value formats.

    NeraCoos Data (Opens in a new Window)

    NeraCoos Data contains data products and tools summarizing eastern buoy, station, and forecasts data. Historical and future data are available as point data. Climate variables include wind speed, wind gust, air temperature, water temperature at varying depths, and air temperature; they are updated from each station and users can compare stations. Forecasts of coastal flooding and erosion, and 48-hour wave and wind are also available.

    Regional, national and international climate modeling (Opens in a new Window)

    Regional, national and international climate modeling contains a database of numerous climate variables for Canada and the USA. Historical and future periods are available as modelled point and gridded data. Data are available as 30-year averages (e.g. 1961/90; 1971/2000, etc.), historical month-by-month (from the late 1800s), and daily values (from the 1950s) all for a number of variables, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate change scenarios, and climate models. Future time periods include all years to 2100 and 30-year means for 2011-2040, 2041-2070, and 2071-2100.

    Service Info-Climat offers hourly, daily and monthly data for temperature, dew point, relative humidity, precipitation (rain, snow and total), snow on the ground, pressure and wind, annual and monthly statistics, Intensity-Duration-graphs Frequency, wind rose, frequency of exceeding daily requirements.
