It can be useful for impact, vulnerability and risk assessments, and for adaptation planning.

    NatureWatch hosts several nature monitoring programs, with more to come in the future. Many community driven programs record observations of various climate variables and species. Registration is required to download data.

    NeraCoos Data (Opens in a new Window)

    NeraCoos Data contains data products and tools summarizing eastern buoy, station, and forecasts data. Historical and future data are available as point data. Climate variables include wind speed, wind gust, air temperature, water temperature at varying depths, and air temperature; they are updated from each station and users can compare stations. Forecasts of coastal flooding and erosion, and 48-hour wave and wind are also available.

    Newfoundland and Labrador Water Resources Portal (NLWRP) (Opens in a new Window)

    The Water Resources Portal displays a wide variety of water resources data that includes: drinking water quality data and treatment profiles; protection areas for ground and surface water supplies; boil water advisories; ambient water quality data, station profiles and watersheds; real time water quality data; hydrometric station data and station profiles; climate station profiles; dam locations and sewage outfall locations.

    NISI Standards and Climate Change in Canada's North (Opens in a new Window)

    This no-charge course serves as an introduction to the most important considerations regarding the effects of extreme weather, climate change and changing environmental conditions have on northern infrastructure.T he course presents the requirements featured in the National Standards as part of the Northern Infrastructure Standardization Initiative (NISI) that were developed to address the impact of climate change on infrastructure in Canada's North. Course participants will learn how climate change can be considered in infrastructure planning, design, development and management and participants will also gain a general understanding of which infrastructure and hazard types NISI standards currently address.

    Normales climatiques du Québec 1981-2010 (in French only) (Opens in a new Window)

    1981-2010 Climate Normals for Quebec contains climate normals, calculated over a 30-year period from climate monitoring program data, that indicate the average climate that can be expected at a given location. Users can select stations via an interactive map. Static maps of climate normals are also available in PDF form. Historical data are available as point and gridded data. Normals available for temperature (min, mean and max) and precipitation (rain, snow and total).

    North American WaterWatch (Opens in a new Window)

    A map depicting short-term changes in streamflow conditions, computed at stream gauges. The color of each stream gauge represents real-time streamflow compared to percentiles of historical daily streamflow for that day of the year. When the stream gauges on the map are clicked, a pop-up appears with pertinent gauge information including a summary of gauge statistics, a graph of gauge discharge, a flood tracking chart and the gauges flooding forecast.

    Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool (Opens in a new Window)

    The Northwest Boreal Science and Management Research Tool contains curated scholarly articles, datasets, state and federal resource reports, land management plans, and more. Each entry includes geographic information about the area of study, allowing users to draw a box on a map to narrow searches to information directly related to a specific region in Alaska, the Yukon, British Columbia, and Northwest Territories. This project is a collaboration among Alaska Resources Library & Information Services (ARLIS), Alaska Climate Science Center, DataBasin, and Northwest Boreal Landscape Conservation Cooperative.

    Nova Scotia Flood Event Database (Opens in a new Window)

    The Nova Scotia Flood History database contains historical records of flood events in Nova Scotia from 1992 to February 1, 2015. Each record in the database represents a single news article from The Chronicle Herald. The database provides the best matched city where the flood event occurred, the date the story was published, a snippet from the article's full story, other places and the county referenced in the news article (if available), and a citation for the record. Historical flood events dating back to 1759 until 1987 are also projected onto an interactive map.
