  • Canadian Tides and Water Levels Data Archive (Opens in a new Window)

    The Canadian Tides and Water Levels Data Archive contains historical observations of tides and water levels from Canadian and global monitoring stations. Data include Canadian tide and water level data, Canadian Hydrographic Service station benchmarks, and international sea level data. Data are available for download in tabular format or can be visualized using an interactive map.

    Cartographie des zones de contraintes relatives à l'érosion côtière et aux mouvements de terrain (in French only) (Opens in a new Window)

    This map locates the parts of the territory where coastal erosion standards, prescribed by the Quebec government, must be applied. Coastal erosion constraint zones include protection strips where various interventions must be regulated. These zones are intended to be integrated into the RCM's land use and development plan for land use planning and control, in accordance with the requirements of the Act respecting land use planning and development (A-19.1, section 5).

    This manual is intended to help organizations address climate change risks in a comprehensive and consistent manner.     The Climate Risk Institute (CRI) works to advance practice and deliver services related to climate change risk assessment, adaptation planning, policy evaluation and resiliency. The CRI climate data webpage provides a variety of different climate data sources to help with decision-making across Canada, including data specifically for Ontario and the Great Lakes region.

    Climate Impacts and Outlook (Opens in a new Window)

    The Climate Impacts and Outlook resource offers a snapshot of recent weather events and anomalies, regional weather impacts on ecosystems and economic sectors, and a forecast for the coming three months displayed through static maps. Historical and future data are available as point, grid and polygon data. Current conditions and forecasts of temperature, precipitation, drought, stream flow, winter weather, and ocean conditions are available.

    Coastal Adaptation Toolkit (Opens in a new Window)

    The Coastal Adaptation Toolkit was developed to help Atlantic rural coastal communities and property owners plan for the effects of climate change. It is appropriate for use by communities and property owners that are experiencing coastal issues related to erosion and/or short- and long-term flooding impacts. The intent of the toolkit is to help communities and decision-makers as well as coastal property owners be aware of their coastal environment, the different adaptation options available to them, and the applicability of the options under different scenarios.
