    ClimateBC is a standalone MS Windows application that downscales PRISM (Daly et al. 2008) 1971-2000 gridded monthly climate normal data (800 x 800 m) to scale-free point locations in British Columbia. It calculates and derives many (>200) monthly, seasonal and annual climate variables. ClimateBC also uses the scale-free data as a baseline to downscale historical and future climate variables for individual years and periods between 1901 and 2100.

    ClimateNA_Map (Opens in a new Window)

    Emergency Coastal Flooding Decision Support System (Opens in a new Window)

    The Applied Geomatics Research Group (AGRG) Coastal Storm Surge Interactive Map is a web-based Emergency Coastal Flooding Decision Support System that presents coastal flood risk from storm surges and long term sea-level rise in the Maritimes. Predicted storm surges, predicted total water level, and predicted tide are available as layers. Existing tide stations, critical facilities, surface elevation, bare earth elevation, and tide and storm surge are also viewable as layers.

    Factoring Climate Risk into Financial Valuation (Opens in a new Window)

    This report presents a practical means to factor climate change and extreme weather risk into financial valuation consistent with direction of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Canada’s Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance (EPSF). This report will help institutional managers to guide investments, securities commissions to assess disclosure, and credit rating agencies to measure risk by incorporating the impacts of climate change into business analysis.

    Scenarios Network for Alaska and Arctic Planning (Opens in a new Window)

    Scenarios Network for Arctic Planning (SNAP) produces downscaled, historical and projected climate data for sub-Arctic and Arctic regions of Alaska and Canada. Other project-specific data covers much larger regions. Users can search for datasets of interest using keywords and filter datasets based on relevance, name, and date last modified. Analysis tools are also available for Alaska wildfire, climate projections, climate histories, daily precipitation, extreme weather, historical sea ice, modelled sea ice coverage, and sea ice and wind interactions.

    Tundra Nunavik project (Opens in a new Window)

    While most ecological studies focus on the impact of climate change on some populations or species, ecosystem-based information is needed to better predict the future state of the Arctic. The Tundra Nunavik project is a large-scale study aimed at characterizing the vulnerability of tundra terrestrial ecosystems to climate change through modelling approach. The approach combined climate modeling, climate niche modeling, and ecosystem modeling, to assess potential changes in terrestrial ecosystems of tundra of Nunavik during the 21st century
