    Data at National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) is a large repository of datasets that describe historical cryosphere information. Datasets available include temperature, glaciers, ice sheets, permafrost, sea ice, sea moisture, and snow. Historical data are available as point and gridded data.

    Emergency Coastal Flooding Decision Support System (Opens in a new Window)

    The Applied Geomatics Research Group (AGRG) Coastal Storm Surge Interactive Map is a web-based Emergency Coastal Flooding Decision Support System that presents coastal flood risk from storm surges and long term sea-level rise in the Maritimes. Predicted storm surges, predicted total water level, and predicted tide are available as layers. Existing tide stations, critical facilities, surface elevation, bare earth elevation, and tide and storm surge are also viewable as layers.

    Factoring Climate Risk into Financial Valuation (Opens in a new Window)

    This report presents a practical means to factor climate change and extreme weather risk into financial valuation consistent with direction of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and Canada’s Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance (EPSF). This report will help institutional managers to guide investments, securities commissions to assess disclosure, and credit rating agencies to measure risk by incorporating the impacts of climate change into business analysis.

    These maps are intended for use at national, provincial, or regional scales and can serve as a guide for identifying areas that require further investigation. Flood Hazard maps for current and future (climate change-affected) conditions, as well as Flood Risk maps, are available at a 1 km resolution.

    Flooding in Canada: Educational Resources on Flooding (Opens in a new Window)

    This webpage offers educational resources on flooding in Canada to raise awareness among Canadian youth in grades 5-12. These inquiry-based and bilingual resources are available to all Canadian educators and aim to encourage students to become more prepared for floods and learn the geography of floods and the wide-reaching impact that they have in Canada.

    HealthyPlan.City (Opens in a new Window)

    HealthyPlan.City combines built environment datasets from different sources with demographic data from the Canadian Census to present a picture of environmental equity in urban areas for 129 cities across Canada. The data used in this tool covers municipalities in Canada with a population of over 30,000 individuals. Data is mapped for areas with a population density of 400 people per square kilometer or more.

    Imiq Data Portal (Opens in a new Window)

    Imiq Data Portal houses hydrologic, climatologic, and soil data collected in Alaska and Western Canada from the early 1900s to the present. The Imiq Data Portal provides a snapshot of available historical hydroclimate data in a map-based view as point data. Users can submit a custom data query, specifying variable of interest, geographic bounds, and time step. Imiq will aggregate and export data records from multiple sources in a common format, with full metadata records.

    Institutional Investors Find Alpha In Climate Risk Matrices: Global Survey Finds (Opens in a new Window)

    This report presents results of a global institutional investor survey focused on understanding the methods to assess physical climate risk, the extent of formal training on physical climate risk received by the Boards of Directors, C-Suite officers and portfolio managers, and the utility of Climate Risk Matrices to aid portfolio managers in investment decisions.
